Tiff Snips # 7: How do You Hit Your Reset Button?
Updated: Oct 9, 2019
I think everyone can relate to getting stuck in a rut, and all of the frustration and fear it can trigger. Recently I have been working on certain goals for my business but felt like no matter what I did, I could not move beyond a certain point. There was some heavy duty stagnant energy so I tried different tools to get things moving. The video below talks about how I was able to hit the reset button and how it can be something small and simple depending on the situation. You can read an edited transcript of the video below!
Fall has officially begun, so it is a great time to talk about the subject of having a reset button or what is your reset button.,also, knowing when you need to reset.from where you currently are. I have been pretty disciplined as far as goals, things I want to accomplish and sticking to it but, I got to a place where I was not seeing much movement and it was frustrating because I knew how hard I was working and how much I was doing. Things just were not moving or changing at all.
A reset button can be things for different people. For instance, some people reset themselves when they travel but if they have not shifted their mindsets that much, when they return home they get back into old habits and patterns. I was able to have a major reset last weekend by doing something out of the ordinary for me. By getting out and having good time out with friends and family I was able to have a big shift. Though I had my weekend mapped out one way ahead of time and thought I knew what I was going to do for the entire weekend, I decided to go with the flow and make last minute adjustments to honor what I felt right in the moment. I allowed myself to flow with what resonated with me instead of the schedule I made in my head and was able to enjoy some quality time with my family. And I am glad I did it because they were my reset button. Everything combined together during the weekend - different scenes, celebrating something and just getting out of my pattern even though the pattern was created to keep me disciplined enough to accomplish goals for my business Uhuru Reiki.
So if you find yourself in a rut, shake things up by doing something you wouldn't normally do. Wear something you would not normally wear, go somewhere you would not normally go, just do something different and reset yourself. Additionally, there is a cute little trick I learned somewhere on the internet I do not remember where. A quick way of resetting your body is to hold up the index finger on one hand, then take the thumb and for finger to pinch the fleshy part on the sides of the index finger on the other hand. Hold the pinch for several seconds (you can experiment with length of the pinch to see if it makes a difference). If you find yourself in a funky mood and need to do a quick reset, try this trick and let me know it works for you.
You can also use music, deep breathing, meditating, Reiki, walking, etc. I am curious to know what are your reset buttons and how do you start over or shake up your energy when you find that you are in a rut - please let me know in the comments. Until next time!
