Tiff Snips # 3: Frequency Vibration and Freedom
Updated: Oct 9, 2019
In this video I talk about how being mindful of your vibration leads to freedom and some of the ways I manage my own vibration, Feel free to just watch the video or also read the edited transcript below.
Hello, I'm doing another (hopefully) quick video. I had some very weird dreams last night, and it prompted me to start thinking about the subconscious and how it is always running whether we realize it or not. A lot of people know about the subconscious for what comes up when they are dreaming but don't understand how much it influences day to day actions. It is basically your running program of who you are and what you do each day. When you start to do things like Reiki, meditation and other practices that are geared towards mindfulness, you become more aware of your subconscious.
Becoming more aware of your subconscious allows you to act as a gatekeeper to some extent for what goes into your subconscious and take charge of your programming. By taking responsibility for what your subconscious is exposed to, you gain more control of your thoughts, actions and ultimately your destiny.
I try to be very careful about what I watch and what I listen to, because everything has a vibration. When your vibration is lowered, it is easier for you to get into bad moods and be influenced by others (especially those that don't have the best intentions). The higher your vibration is, the easier it is to prevent things from overwhelming, distracting or controlling you - it's basically freedom. For a long time, when people have talked about raising their frequencies and vibrations they were seen as being woo woo or very into new age stuff, but the reality is there is power doing that. It is also a way of freeing yourself in that we attract a lot of what we are - even if it is at a subconscious level.
Our lives will play out in the world and we will attract people, situations and things that are operating on a level that we don't necessarily understand or are aware of. This is one of the main reasons that I do not watch the news as it tends to focus on negativity. Though there is much negativity in the world, constantly watching the news can shape someone into becoming very fear based. You become fearful because you are living in this world where there are so many bad things happening and that's what you are constantly feeding yourself.
Also, whenever I listen to music, I don't listen to songs that are angry or music that is driven on conflict, anger or rage. I try to listen to songs that are happy, uplifting or reflective, which allows me to be introspective. Sometimes I listen to music without any lyrics that have a certain mood that I am going for. Another thing to be mindful of is social media. In this area especially with Instagram because images are so powerful (not that words aren't too) I try to follow accounts that focus on things I consider beautiful, funny or things and people that inspire me.
The accounts that I follow are not just focused on materialistic aspirations, but also aspirational as in the kind of person I want to to be and the level of character I want to have. I like following people who have amazing outlooks on life, these are usually the people who can find a problem to any solution and the silver lining in any cloud. They take responsibility for their words and actions, and allow trial and tribulations to make them stronger and wiser - not victims.
Additionally, spending time in positive and nurturing environments is very beneficial to my vibration. You will notice that I shoot most of my videos in places where I am close to nature or in nature because it is nurturing and healing. Finding environments like these are a lot more challenging in large, heavy populated cities like New York City however it is also much more necessary than in less populated and rural/suburban areas.
Please pay attention to where you spend your time, who you spend your time with, what you spend your time doing, listening to, watching, reading, or talking about. This is how you get your power back which ultimately leads to true freedom. The name of my business - Uhuru Reiki, uses the Swahili word Uhuru which means freedom in english. I believe freedom is something we should all be aiming for- aiming towards true freedom but in a mindful and benevolent way where we are not dismantling one another's lives or hurting one another in order to achieve our freedom.
